Polpo - Cichèti

I had taken a fleeting glance of the beautifully drawn octopus on the cover of Russell Norman's Polpo in bookshops but I did not register how good the book was. I had missed the buzz about Polpo, the restaurant, which is easy to do if you live out of London.

Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2015

Seven years ago when I bought my first DSLR, a Canon 450D, I did not imagine for one minute my work would make it to the finals of an international food photography competition. My ambition at the time was to become a competent photographer so that I could write and illustrate features for the Yorkshire Post and other publications without necessarily having to hook up with a photographer.

Food Photography

"How many students have we got today?" I asked Joe Piliero, the director of the School of Artisan Food as we were setting up our first Introduction to Food Photograph course a couple of weeks ago. "Fourteen" he answered and I was delighted. Just enough students to work in four groups on our projects for the day but not too many to overwhelm me.
